Surrogacy with Own Bio-Materials
Surrogacy using a couple’s own biological material (eggs and/or sperm) is ideal for those who are capable of producing healthy gametes but are unable to carry a pregnancy to term.
In surrogacy using a couple’s own biological material, an embryo is created using the intended parents’ own egg and sperm and then transferred to the uterus of a surrogate mother. With the help of a surrogate mother, they have the opportunity to experience the joy of building a family. Using their own biological material allows intended parents to maintain a genetic link to their child while ensuring a safe pregnancy through a surrogate.
Surrogacy with Parents’ Own Eggs and/or Sperm is Recommended for:
- Women with medical conditions that make pregnancy dangerous or impossible (e.g. absence of uterus, severe uterine abnormalities, or life-threatening health conditions)
- Couples who have experienced multiple miscarriages or repeated IVF failures despite using their own eggs and sperm
- Women who have undergone hysterectomy or other surgeries that prevent pregnancy
- Women with chronic illnesses (e.g. cardiac, or autoimmune conditions) that could worsen with pregnancy
Surrogacy Law in Georgia
Eligibility: In Georgia, surrogacy is legal for married heterosexual couples or for heterosexual couples who have lived together for at least one year and can provide proof of cohabitation. This makes Georgia a legally safe destination for surrogacy for intended parents of any nationality.
Birth Certificate: Under Georgian surrogacy law, the intended mother and father are recognized as the sole legal parents from the moment of the child’s birth. The surrogate has no parental rights, and her name does not appear on the birth certificate. The child is registered in the intended parents’ names within a few working days after birth.
Flexible Options for Surrogacy with Own Bio-Materials
To create embryos using the intended parents’ own biological material, the intended mother must undergo ovarian stimulation, which typically takes around two weeks. At Reproart, we offer two flexible options to accommodate different schedules and personal preferences.
Option 1: Begin Ovarian Stimulation in Your Home Country
Intended mothers can start ovarian stimulation in their home country under the remote supervision and guidance of our medical professionals. This is a convenient option for those who cannot take extended time off work. With this approach, you would only need to travel to Georgia for the egg retrieval (aspiration) procedure, typically requiring a stay of just 2–3 days.
Option 2: Complete the Entire Stimulation Process in Georgia
Alternatively, intended mothers can undergo the full ovarian stimulation protocol at Reproart in Georgia. This option allows for close in-person monitoring by our doctors and may provide additional comfort and support. If you choose this route, please plan to stay in Georgia for approximately 15–16 days.

Surrogate Selection: How it Works
At Reproart, we operate our own in-house surrogate mother recruitment agency, which works exclusively with our clinic. This allows us to have carefully screened surrogate candidates and provide a faster matching process for intended parents.
All of our surrogates undergo comprehensive medical and psychological evaluations. Only after our medical team approves a candidate for her physical and mental readiness for the program, the surrogate mother matching process begins. This ensures the highest standards of safety in the surrogate mother selection and matching process.
