Georgia offers a legal framework for surrogacy that simplifies the process of acquiring legal parentage for Intended Parents after the birth of a child.<\/p>\n

Once the child is born:<\/p>\n

  • If the Civil Agency receives all the required documents within the timeframe established by law, it will issue the child’s birth certificate, listing the intended parents, within five working days. (please see Obtaining your child\u2019s birth certificate)<\/em><\/li>\n
  • The intended parents are listed as the child\u2019s only legal parents.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • The surrogate\u2019s name does not appear on the birth certificate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
